When a new PEZ dispenser is created, is it automatically available worldwide?
As a matter of principle, a distinction must be made between the European and American markets. Within Europe, there are naturally preferences that vary accordingly from country to country. We decide on the respective product range with our local distributors. Therefore it is recommended to contact the respective distribution partners for further details.
Which character was the first PEZ dispenser for children?
Originally PEZ was a product for adults. It is only when the American market was conquered that Eduard Haas III recognised the potential presented by younger target groups. It is for this reason that the PEZ dispensers were given their famous heads. In 1962, the first licence was finally concluded with Walt Disney.
How many different characters are there?
From today´s perspective, it is not longer possible to determine how many product lines and characters have been released since 1962. On average, up to four new product lines and thee to six characters are developed per year.
Where can you get old PEZ dispensers that are no longer available?
All dispenser lines are sold off by special offer once they are no longer available in commerce. In the mean time, there are independent collector communities and fan communities in almost every country that own remarkable PEZ treasures.
Is the company and trademark wording PEZ an abbreviation, and if so, where does the name come from?
PEZ is derived from the German „Pfefferminz“ (mint). Eduard Haas III, the inventor, created the name from the first, middle and last character.
